Len Lafreniere Memorial Trophy Winner 2022
Congratulations to Tracy Wilson, winner of the Len LaFreniere Memorial Trophy for outstanding contributions to the Battlefords Scuba Community for the 2021-22 year.
Tracy has been an active member of the BSC, involved in dive activities throughout Saskatchewan. Tracy completed her PADI Instructor Development Course and her Instructor Exam in August and earned twelve Specialty Instructor Ratings. In the summer Tracy completed her Instructor certification with the Handicapped Scuba Association.
Tracy served as Secretary of the Saskatchewan Underwater Council through March 31, 2022 and took over the role of acting Executive Director. In both roles Tracy played a huge part in making the changes necessary to have the SUC become eligible for funding from the SPRA and the Sask Lotteries Foundation.
Tracy has now partnered with Brad Nelson in the creation of START Diving and Training, the Saskatchewan Technical Adaptive and Recreational Team.
Congratulations Tracy and thanks for all that you have done for us.
Saskatchewan Underwater Council Diver of the Year 2022
The late Scott Beck of Saskatoon was an avid diver and a former President of the Saskatchewan Underwater Council.
Following his passing, the SUC created the Scott Beck Memorial Trophy which is given to a nominee from the membership for their service to the diving community of the province.
On December 18th, the prestigious award was presented by Sheldon Funk, Treasurer of the SUC, and Tracy Wilson, to Dennis McCullough, Instructor and President of the Battlefords Scuba Community, and the club's representative to the Saskatchewan Underwater Council.
The award was presented after the festivities during the Santa and Mrs. Claus visit to the Battlefords Coop Aquatic Centre.

Celebrity Discover Scuba
The Battlefords Scuba Community held a Celebrity Discover Scuba session in 2022.
· To express the Club’s appreciation for the support provided for the school Discover Scuba Program
· To involve representatives of local agencies for a fun demonstration
· To raise awareness of scuba diving in the community l
Participants took part in the regular Discover Scuba program.
It was a fun day with great dividends for the club.
